Assistive Technology for Kansans
Assistive Technology for Kansans (ATK) provides information, training and funding assistance related to technology for individuals with disabilities or health conditions that may include: amputation, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, muscular dystrophy, back pain, post-polio syndrome, cancer, respiratory problems, cardiac problems, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, stroke, deafness and hearing impairments, traumatic brain injury, blindness or vision impairments or cognitive impairments.

K-Loan
K-Loan is a consumer-run financial program that provide persons with disabilities and their families access to financial resources for acquiring assistive technology through education, savings and borrowing.

The Kansas Equipment Exchange
The Kansas Equipment Exchange (KEE) Program is designed to help more Kansans obtain affordable medical equipment. In cooperation with Medicaid and other agencies, wheelchairs, hospital beds and other durable medical equipment (DME) that is no longer being used is returned to the program, refurbished and made available for other Kansans. AgrAbility
AgrAbility promotes the combination of agricultural know-how with disability expertise to provide farmers, ranchers and farm workers the specialized services they need to safely accommodate their disabilities in everyday farm/ranch operations.

Telecommunications Access Program (TAP)
The Kansas Telecommunications Access Program (TAP) provides specialized telephones, smartphones, or tablets, along with other adapted telecommunications devices to Kansans with disabilities who canโt use traditional home telephones. Based on state law, the program receives funds through the Kansas Universal Service Fund (KUSF) and is regulated by the Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC). Consumers may benefit from TAP if they find it difficult to hear or understand phone conversations, have difficulty seeing phone buttons or dialing, require video communication, require voice activated dialing, and so on.
To qualify for TAP a person must meet the following criteria:
- Be a resident of Kansas
- Have a documented disability that requires adapted telecommunications equipment (requires a signature from a health provider certifying the disability)
- Make less than $55,000 gross per year ($3,000 may be added for each dependent claimed).

Benefits Specialists and Certified Partner Work Incentives Coordinators (CPWIC) provide information on how working will affect a person's Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Workforce Services has three people who can help you understand what will happen to your Social Security benefits if you get a job.

Jobs for Veterans
The Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) program is run by the Kansas Department of Commerce and funded by the U.S. Department of Labor. It helps eligible veterans and other qualified individuals find meaningful work. JVSG staff include Disabled Veteransโ Outreach Program (DVOP) specialists and Local Veteransโ Employment Representatives (LVERs), who provide one-on-one help with job searches, career planning, and connecting to training or other support. The goal is to help veterans overcome challenges and find long-term success in the workforce.
Additionally, transitioning service members and their families can visit KanVet.org to access vet-specific resources and benefits in the state of Kansas without having to navigate multiple state agencies. This includes employment, education and other support resources.

Workforce Centers
Jobseekers can visit their local KANSASWORKS Workforce Center, where dedicated staff and services are available to help them. Staff can assist with exploring job openings, receiving job search tips, creating a resume, participating in workshops, applying for jobs, getting assistance with interviewing and evaluating job offers, and referrals to training and other resources.
KANSASWORKS also offers workforce services to help employers attract and retain employees. Staff at KANSASWORKS Workforce Centers across the state can assist with recruiting, screening, and referring top candidates for your positions.
